Good Deal?
Okay. You guys are the experts. A kid I know from OSU wants to sell me his two 10" Digital Audio subs with box...for $100 dollars...he says they haven't even been "broken in" yet....i'm know nothing about audio.
how much and what would i have to do to complete the transformation to make it play.
Is that a good deal? How big of amp would I need...get away with?
I have the 460 system with stock player...if that matters.
Thanks guys!

Hundred bucks for any two subs that work is a decent deal, just so long as it's not something you've seen in Wal-Mart or Best Buy. I am unfamiliar with that brand but yes you'll need some wiring and an amplifier. Just a guess your looking at about $75 for wiring and roughly $300 for a decent amp. New of course...
And a box if his woofers he is seling you doesn't include a box. Right off hand I would pass on the deal. Maybe he sees you as an easy target since you even said you know nothing about audio...

okay. i've tried to do some research into the brand and its not too popular. Its made by Audiobahn and does come with a box.
Thanks seight i thought i was left out to dry for a second there. iappreciate it.

He said it was "back when Audiobahn was still good".... ?? okay.
umm...i'm not exactly sure..i wasn't really planning on getting a system other than stock 460 but the opportunity arose. What i've read is that 10's are better for rock and 12's for rap?
See, i think its a good deal and then i start adding an amp and wires..then i'm like...wow..i coulda had a throttle body or gears or something and i start to second guess it.

Depending on how feel about diy, boxes are really easy to build yourself and allow you to get the most out of the subs you buy.
A prefab can vary between $50-100 for a decent box. Diy runs around $20.
If you want a budget sysem, I could make a couple of recommendations. I would need total budget and goal of the system. (spl or sound quality)

DIY is not a problem with me..so $20 sounds fine
I'm not looking for something to knock the doors off a car beside me...just a bit more bass...
recommendations would be great PReal. Thanks
