what i got to work with
ok got a 02 v6 stang, stock system(premium sound) no mach system or anything..
got 2 12' subs (Blaphunkt or somethin) and a 2000w amp sub(American Legacy, sucks) but i feel that it wouldnt be too bad in the stang, i wanted to remove the seats and have one 12' sub facing the interior of the car for looks,
-removing the rear seats=hard?
and then building a box to fit across with the one 12' sub in the middle, any good ideas on how i can accomplish this? I have all these parts and a lot of the wires came with it when i removed it from my friends car, but anyway, what would i need to be done for this to work? measure the back end of my trunk for how big of a box i would need and then put the one sub in the middle?
hehe im a newb with audio, sorry. thanks for answerin if you do

Well with your one sub firing into the car, that will give you almost no bass. Especially with the drivers you'd be running. I had to show customers this because the wouldn't believe me, by taking them out to my car and putting my subs in the back seat and then putting them in my trunk. World of difference because the sound waves have something to bounce off, or resonate, essentially. Dont put your woofers in your back seat unless you have alot of power, 4 or more woofers, and your doing it for dB drags. As far as removing your back seat you'll need a ratchet and a set of sockets, two objects to pry on the bottom of your backseat to get it to pop out and thats about it. Now building this box, thats at your discretion. How skilled you are and how much time and patience you have will determine that.

To the original post. If you decide to build a wall in place of your rear seats you should easily be able to fit 2 12's. If you really want just one and desire loud, contact blaupunkt and see if your subs work in a ported enclouse. Design your box to work with blaupunkt's specs and you should have a decent little setup.
you just said it dude SUV . theres a huge diffrence in suv and mustang, you have a hell of alot more glass in your vehicle which is the best damn thing for bass resonance to reflect off of so it will be better. the car is more compact and facing forward the only reflection will really be off the windshield. dont be so quick to critisize!!!

My sub is in the rear cargo area facing the center of the vehicle. It is built over the wheel well andI am getting little to no reflection off of the rear glass. Glass does reflect sound waves better then carpet and panels. but with the small window in my pathfinder I probibly have very little glass more then a late model mustang.
the shape of that pathfinder is ideal ompared to the stang. now if he had a hatchback i would say maybe definantly not, but its the shape of the vehicle also, you have more area inside for the sound to resonate under the roof before final reflection. although suvs are better for forward firing applications, the best vehicles ive found for sound were the late 80s model celica gts because of the size and angle of the hatch glass, but thats in a rear firing application. is your box ported or sealed and also is it smaller than RAS or more.

there ya go, if its built dead on the money sealed you would freak out, but ideally it needs to be rectangular, diffrent shaped boxes performance decrease a little. i like to make sure they are sealed as sealed can be. compress my 12s inward and it takes 2 or 3 secondsfor them to move back out, thats how tight i like em

By box is not square, trying to reduce resonences, I have .75 mdf all the way around with an extra layer on top and driver side. Everything is sealed using a .5 inch bead of silicone around the box and a small bead of silocone around the driver as well. It is very difficult toconpress my sub.
