Default Having Issues With CD Playback on Shaker 500 in 2006 Mustang GT

I bought a 2006 Mustang GT Convertible in Sept. I love the car, but this CD player/MP3 Player BLOWS!! I play a lot of contunuous mix dance CDs (where there is no "gap" in between tracks). On this CD player, I am getting a pause of 0.5-1 second between tracks on regular store bought CDs. If I am playing a MP3 disc, it is even worse.

Is anyone else out there having this problem on the 06 model? I know the 07 model updated the software for the stereo and the problem has been fixed.

Ford refuses to acknowledge a problem here and says "the stereo is functioning how is was designed." Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Sorry dude, you're SOL with Skipper 500. I pulled it and installed Kenwood DPX701 that has a USB interface (among zillion other things) and wired it to the factory amps and speakers. I just sold my car and pulled the system. Take a look in the Parts for Sale forum and search for DPX701, I'm selling it now.

I have been having the same problem. I also listen to cd's that keep playing and they have a pause for a second then play the next track. I am on my second Shaker 500 and I still have the problem. If you know how tofix it let me know. I think I am just going to get it replace untilit is right. The cd player might be bad but the 2006five speed manual V8 is bad ***.

The fix is a new HU, unfortunately... I had three and all of them had similar problems, to various degrees. So I gave up and and bought DPX701 which gave me Sirius, dual aux in, dual USB in, sound tuning options up to my a**, all the while preserving the look/feel of the stock dash (my car had LED package, so I just set it it to blue so it matches stereo).

Sooner or later almost everyone comes to one of two conclusions - yank Shaker or learn to live with the skipping.

Like I said, I'm selling my setup, PM if you're interested.

PS The car is certainly badass
