you will be better off gettinga relay to drive these seperate lights to do it right. A relay is an electronic switch that will allow the voltage needed to be used when needed, off when not. A relay with the correct hrns should only be $4-10 at a local auto parts store as allow for the correct connection.

If you add one, maybe two you would be ok but still really need to use the relay. I can walk you through it if you like....

ttocs is correct. The problem you are going to get into (if not already) is excessive current (amp draw) from a single source. There is not so much a limit to how many items you can "run" from a single source, but rather the total amperage draw of all items combined. One has to take into consideration the TOTAL aperage draw of ALL items connected to power source as well as wire guage and the fuse that is going to be used. The beauty of using a relay is the displayed in the following pic.

#86 connection will come from the "trigger" line. This will go to the switch that you want to use to turn all
the new equip on with (< my english teacher would not be impressed with my syntax there [&o])

#85 Pretty obvious, run connection straight to the body of car

#87a In your case, this line will probably be left un-used

#87 This connection will go to the power source that is fused and properly guaged to supply ALL the
power for the new items you are connecting (to battery)

#30 This will connect to ALL wires going to the new equipment.

There are several different ways to connect a relay, and are a fantastic item. One of the beauties of this baby is the ability to install even the smallest switch or have a dashlight"control" eventhe most high current of items.
