Need help...i'm blowing fuses
I bought a Sony XS-L123P5B subwoofer today and I went to hook it up to my Sony XM-504Z amp and it melted the fuse. The fuse is a 60 amp. I don't know much about this stuff so some suggestions would help.
NEVER try a bigger fuse. That will only make the problem worse if you have a problem.
How are you wiring a single voice coil, single sub into a 4 channel amp and what else is that amp driving?

I went from a 40 amp to a 250 and fixed my problem. Maybe your experience isn't always correct.

I am in agreement with ttocs. Something else is wrong. A fuse that large is for like 3500 watt system. Please do a little more research on the prob, you missed something.Jazzer
In my travels today, I started thinking about this a little. I never actually looked at the amp that was in use (doesn't change the wattage demand that would call for a 250 amp fuse) but have looked it up now. Looking at a 200 watt or so amp, so should need a 20 amp fuse max. Why the fuse doesn't blow now, is a mystery without more info, but can say for sure that 250 amp fuse is INCORRECT for this amount of power. Sorry to be a H.A. but electrical issues should not be messed with. Just b/c it is working, doesn't make it right.
