Where to run power cables?
Where did you guys run the power cables for your amp? I don't have the foggiest idea of where to run them. I know where they are going to go through the firewall, but after that where am i headed? I would like to keep it so you can't see the wires at all.
I ran mine along the drivers side rocker panel. You should run your RCA cables on the pass side though.Theres a magnetic field around the power wires, the RCA's will pick up the signal and amplify it. Itll probably make a high pitch kind of a buzzing noise. Itll vary with RPM.

I agree with P on running RCA's and power lines on separate sides of car (if they have to cross over one anther, do so at 90 degree angles so they don't run parallel)but would ask where you plan to install amp(s)?
If you plan on putting in trunk I would suggest running a PVC pipe from the engine compartment to the back. I used a torch to heat PVC pipe and created bends and strapped to the frame. The wire is protected from road debris, water and has no sags that can get damaged. The pipe also makes sure wire does not getdamaged by moving partsor exhaust that are close by.Just be sure to size wire properly and to have adequate power suppy (battery, alternator) to make sure system works as designed.

I plan on using the method from Mustangworld with the line converter so i believe that my RCA's will already be in the trunk, correct? Now, when i run the power cable off the battery, where is it routed if i am going to run it under the car? I think thatis a great idea with the PVC piping and what not. If I am running 4 gauge i would need what, a 1.5" pipe? and how did you go about connecting the pipe to the under of the car? Thanks guys for all your help. I would really like to do this install!
Running 4 gu. will need no larger than 1/2" pipe (the pipe is measured from the inside diameter). I ran mine along the inside of the drivers frame under the car. There were seveal locations that I was able to get a large hose clamp and go around the pipe and frame to tighten. If you are familiar with a hand-held torch, you can heat the pipe s-l-o-w-l-y and get a gentle bend to go up at either end. Then the wire will just slide from one end to the other and be protected as mentioned in previous post. My pipe comes up right next to the steering column and ends The wire then comes out and bends around to reach the battery. In this location is the exhaust and steering shaft that turns, so this worked really well for me.

there should already be a hole in your firewall on the driver's side...it should be in plain view...a little rubber grommet with some wire coming out...my power cable was routed through that hole and then under the carpet on the driver's side
You can run it through cabin, but some issues come into play. You may cause some magnetic field interference (as mentioned by P) and/or a bump in the carpet. It can also be hard to get through firewall and not interfere with other things.
If you find another way that is easier or better for you, more powere to you. This is just what I did, and worked really well.

I installed the pipe and strapped under the car first. That is to say, trial and error I figured out where to bend the pipe and got it all securedwith one end up through floor under rear-seat delete atlocation for amps and the other up under hood just passed steering column. I then just took the power wire and pushed it in frominsideuntil it came outunder hood(this is why I described gentle bends in pipe). I left enough slack to make connections at either end, and that was it. This is also nice b/c there are NO sharp edges to cut wire. Maybe one day I will post some pics of install.
Hope that answers your question. If not, ask again
