Default Question about Ohms

I don't understand how to match a sub and amp. Can you guys tell me what is the best combo for these two different setups. How many ohms should the sub and amp be to best fit these combonations AND how many channels should the amp perferably be:

1) One sub and amp
2) Two subs and one amp

Im not a pro but basically the lower the ohm load for the amp the more the power. Get a mono ampthat iseither 1 or 2 ohm stable.
Wire the subs dwn to 2 ohms- get either 2 single voice coil 4 ohm subs. Or get 2 dual voice coil 2 ohm subs. And wire them accordingly. Heres a link thatll help.

It really all depends on your voice coil configuration.

If you are trying to determine your resistance, give me the specs of the subs and what amp you are using.

Remember, lower resistance is not always better. If your amp is not stable at that rating, heat becomes your enemy very quickly.

I have two 10" type R subs, the model just before the newest ones. How do I find out the specs and such if I bought them from a friend who doesn't know them? Does it say on the sub? Same goes for my 4-channel Performance Technique amp.

Get on the manufacter's website and look up the instruction manual under technical support. You will need the model numbers or be able to match them by sight.
