Default 6.5" and 6x9"??

I have the mach460 sound system in my cobra. Few months ago i had a Ford Taurus SHO and bought brand new speaker for it. they are soundstream 6.5 and 6x9. i never put them in and sold thatcar so i have them in my room and i really wanna use them. Could these speakres fit in my car with some fab work or something. i know that it calls for 5x7 but i have these and they are some great speakers.

OR should i just go and sell try to sell them and get the 5x7?

the 6.5"s in teh doors shouldnt be too hard probably need a baffle thats atleast 3/4 thick should do that, the rears will be harder will have to be cut out and i dont youll be able to use the stock box and amp rack any longer. Id leave stock rears in place then sell the two pairs you got and get a nice set of 6.5" componets for the front.

Just put the 6.5's in. Round speakers will sound better then ovals.

well if you really want to it shoultn be that hard but i think youd be 100% happier with a set of componets up front and a small 2 channel amp for them.

stinger makes a 5X7 adapeter plate to fit a 6.5, the round cone is more stable so you get a better sound than a oval speaker. but yes some companies make 5x7 componets.

I gave the reason behind the stability a couple weeks ago. I'm glad someone new seems to have knowledge also.
