Any feedback on these speakers? I have Pioneer A6865's that I bought in 1998 or 1999 in my 94 GT. I think they were average and I am wondering if I can get better sound from upgrading them...possibly to the Sony's. The 6865's were better than stock but I've upgraded the head unit. Basically I'm wondering if it is worth it to upgrade.

 

Why not put good equipment into the car. You can get a great set of 6.5 comps and an amp for under $200!

 

I know comps will sound better but I want something that will fit right in the door 6x8's. I'l like to add a set of tweeters up high on the door as well. I've used the Polk db1000 with good results. I guess I am wondering if there is a better sounding speaker than by old A6865's or if I should just leave it be with the exception of the db1000's.

 

If you buy adapter plates they will fit perfect in the doors. If you want some mediocre sound there are a number of brands that make 5x7 / 6x8 comps.
