You said that you can't get much bass out of your door speakers? door speakers are not really made for bass... made for you highs and mids... if you want MORE bass you need to upgrade your system.

Do you have a aftermarket deck? stock speakers? anything else amped other than you sub?
i think you miss read my first post I have 2 12 cvr which are subs I have nothing stock to the sound system left in my car. Iv been trying to get more bass out of my subs and right now i have a 800 watt 2 champ and was wondering if a bigger amp would make a difference.

In a convertable it would be hard to fit, but a ported box is the best way to increase output for cheap.

Can you list the model/specs of you subs and amp. I can't remember what equipment you have.

Gotcha!! You can go with a bigger amp but you gotta make sure that the subs can handle that.

Or you can go with a 15". I had one and it was very loud!! but its all up to you. It depends on what sound you are looking for. All around sound or deep hits on low bass.

10" is good for very quick hits can be loud
12" is good for quick hits and alittle deeper
15" DEEP hits but not quick

It depends on how you set it up. OHMS? Voice Coil how many the speaker has? Momo amp or bridgesable amp?

Seriously, this cobra guy needs to stop giving bad advice.

The size of a sub has just about nothing to do with its "quick hits" or anything of the such. The sloppyness of a sub depends on the installation not its size.

no i like those better ...haha

honestly Hisss...i know you, Preal, seight, etc. have a LOT more experience...and i don't know how old you are or how long you have been in to Car Audio...but wasn't there a time (EARLY on before you had ANY experience) when you actually believed some of that stuff about 10s vs. 12s vs. 15s etc?...i will admit i did...i no longer do of course because i have been learning a lot along the way...but some people just aren't at the point in their car audio experience that you....or even i am at...i remember when i first came on to this site you gave me SO much sh*t for my Alpine system...i never claimed that it was the best or that it would blow anyone else's system away...i said it was a mid-level system (now i know it isn't even that) that was decent at the time...well now i plan to be getting rid of it when i have the extra cash to buy new stuff...that was almost a year ago and i have learned SO much since then...i really think you shouldn't be so b*tchy to the new guys...ok dr. phil rant off

(i know you're about to shed a tear hahahaha)

Cobra4187...there are a LOT of 8" and 10" woofers out there that will play louder and deeper than a comparable 12" or 15" sub...and then they are 15" and 18" subs out there that will reproduce the TIGHTEST/cleanest bass when compared to similar 10" or smaller subs...there are no SET rules for this sub playing louder or tighter than THAT sub...every depends on everything else...enclosure...amp...the sub itself...signal quality...where the sub is mounted....etc.....those are pretty strong claims from someone that obviously doesn't have that much experience in car audio...you should read more in this section than post...i shouldn't even be posting that much....but when i do i (for the most part not including the sound deadening thread that i posted in earlier [:@]) make sure i know what i am talking about

I have to be a douche.

It gets the point across.

It's the only way they will remember me.

Like you said, you reformed, didn't you?

hmm yea i did...but then i never thought i had a system worthy of bragging about...i would rather show off my nice box and nicely it fits in my trunk and still gives me access to my spare tire and a usable trunk...rather than claim my Type-Rs are better than anyone else's subs...i know i have a long way to go though...so that being said...yea i guess...this is something i am becoming passionate about and i try to learn as much as possible when i can...when i got my Alpine system i didn't know as much back then but yes my eyes have been opened here more than if didn't have you guys setting me straight

I think being a douch gets the point across better.

You listen and remember something if you get made fun of for it.
