Default Wiring help? FIXED!!!Thanks!

My car is an 88GT with the premium sound .The factory amp is still in there but it doesn't work. All of the radio wiring and harnesses have been cut off in my car. I just put a cheap JVC headunit in it with a sub and amp. Everything works now but I used the fuse panel to power up the radio since I'm not sure of which wires to splice into. My only problem so far is now when I turn off the car the memory doesnt stay in the radio. So what wire / power source is safe to tap into that will keep the memory in the radio and not drain the battery??? Just a reminder all of the factory radio harnesses have been cut out so I cant use them. Thanks.

Mostly I just use radio for my Ipod so setting one station is no biggie. But I'd like to keep some preset stations in memory. Thanks.

cig lighter is a good circuit to tap into, you do not have to go to the fuse box.

Hey thanks for the reply. I went out and checked the circuits for constant fused 12volts. I used the cicagarette/horn circuit. I alresdy ran wires to the fuse box so I just moved the headunit memory wire from the switched source to constant 12v.I wasn't sure if this was ok but know I know it is. Thanks a bunch.Memory stays now.

Yes. All wiring is run directly to the speakers themselves not using any of the factory wiring. The same goes for all other wiring. Power for the mono amp was run directly from the battery with a fuse within 4" of the battery positive. Wiring was run along the door sills for amp power and remote. RCA plugs were run under the carpet through the center of the car nuder the rear seat and then into the spare tire well where the amp is mounted. I'm using 6-1/2" in the door, 3-1/2" in the dash and 12' sealed boh in the hatch. The sound quality is really good.
