help with radio install please
I am currently installing a cd player into a 98 mustang. im wondering what the problem is, the car has the facorty cd player and amp but we wanted to use the bypass connectors with the wiring harness that we bought to hook up the cd player. we hooked up the harness to the connectors, connected all the wires correctly, plugged the antenna in and turned it on and it did not work. we tried grounding it out through the harness and also the chassis. we tried using the connector that went to the radio and nothing. we are basically stumped as to why this isnt working. we also cut the two big black wires from the cd player and radio that we were not able to disconnect. we also cut the ends off the two smaller connectors that went to the radio. if anyone can shed any light on this subject i would appreciate it alot.
The Mach460 is teh weird.... you won't be able to use the factory amps with the aftermarket amp, I don't believe they accept traditional line level, or speaker level input for that matter. Im sure theirs a way, call a local stereo shop and see what they say.
the cd player has outputs for additional amps i just wanted to know if the cd player was going to work or if i did anything wrong, we put the two original connectors we cut back together and hooked up the stock radio and cd player like it came and those didnt work either. is there a fuse that if its blown would stop the radio from working? is the dome light on that same fuse, because now that doesnt work also.
i had a friend whos light inside didn't work after he installed a radio not as soon as yours but his radio and light went at the same time..he never got to fix it because he got into an accident like 2 or 3 days after...so i mean just letting you know its happened before...check the fuses..try replacing the light fuse maybe
