i did get a 8" for 5 bucks, i thought that cutting would reduce reception because it is shorter, but if it is shorter anf fatter, its equivalent.?

how did you go about cutting your antenna? I would like to know... mine looks like one of those flags you put on the back of a go-cart!

pull the ball off the end of the antenna cut the antenna where you want then shave it down a bit then shove the ball back on, then repaint because your gonna chew it up.

I couldnt get the ball off the end so I just cut the antenna in half and left it that way.

www.mustangworks.com has a link to how to shorten the antenna. it would cost as much for the spray paint as it would to buy a new shorter one from autozone.
