Buying a new head unit. You would be very surpised if you sat in my car and listened to the entire stock Mach system except the Eclipse CD-7000 head unit. You'd think I atleast changed out my speakers witgh the kind of sound they are putting out.

I have a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP unit. How should I work the settings on it for better sound?

Well not to be arrogant or anything but I have much more functionality with mine but... Setting your crossovers, tuning your EQ into, it should look something like a "soft valley" hope you know what I mean by that. Keep the Loud setting off, don't use your preset EQ's like super bass, and powerful. I dont know all the features of that unit but, if it has HPF and LPF you shoudl adjust those, the are similiar to the ever popular "bass blockers" the "cut-off" when I say cut off I mean they filter out the best they can, low frequencies to your front and rear stage. Just go through your menu, look in the manual and see what each setting does and adjust it accordingly to what sounds best.

Yeah it does have a LPF and I keep that set at 125 which is the highest setting. Anything lower than that and the speakers sound like they're going to pop when any bass hits. I usually use the "Powerful" EQ preset but I will try a soft valley as you say and see how that sounds.
