OMG, this keeps getting worse and worse.

I'm sorry. I have heard 3 different lines of audiobahn subs with various power supply and different enclosure types (ported and sealed)

Not a single audiobahn woofer I have ever heard resembled anything close to sound quality. If all you have heard is MTX and audiobahn, MTX will be the winner. I'm not saying MTX is bad, but you can do significantly better for the price. Sometimes if you want the best deal for the money you can't listen to the speakers before you buy them. You have to rely on the opinions of others.

When I needed new front comps, I wanted the best value for the money. I trusted a reputible person on the caraudio.com forum and got great speakers for the money. Sincethat experience I have been trying to help guide people in the right direction. I have heard a lot of different brands and models. I have heard audiobahns and MTX's along with a lot of other brands.

If you want expereince rely on the opinions of those I mentioned earlier, if you don't spend your money on whatever you want. If you listen to those that have listened to us, you'll find they were happy customers.
I'm definitely looking for the best bang for the buck.

I'm not pushing brand, I'm pushing the 'fit your needs'. Everyone in my group thought that LanZar sucked **** (they were huge Cerwin Vega and Harmon Kardon fans) Keep in mind this was late 80's early 90's. I ended up buying a 12" lanzar after finding it would work best in the enclosure that was built in terms of space, tuning, etc. I rolled up and let my buddies listen to it after everything was in. They all thought I had gone with their recommendations based on the sound quality...nope. Floored every single one of them. All things being equal in a blind listeningtest I really doubt ANYONE can tell the difference between most decent brands without knowing in advance what they will be listening to.

That's like saying one speaker wire will make a speaker sound better another speaker wire. If you match the speaker with the enclosure and match the amp to the speaker and so on down the line you won't lose. Brand loyalty is ridiculous.

Let me interupt here.

All you Audiobahn Guru's.

Please inform us why you hang off their nuts.

I don't wish to hear, "Well, Hissssss, because Audiobahn's 'base' slams, DAWG!"
I also don't want to hear Price; because ,as we all know, Audiobahn is not the best bang for the buck by far.

I will accept the following:

1. Because I like to follow in the footsteps of my god, Flavor Flave.
2. Because I like to have bling.
3. Because those sweet sub grillz help me to get my jollies.
4. Because they made a 36" woofer, that doesn't do anything but look pretty.
5. Because I hang off every word the Best buy/Circuit City ****'s tell me as if it were Xanax.

How many of you Audiobahn owners have a custom enclosure, and how many of you have store bought garbage? I'm going with 95% of you have a bandpass enclosure, why, because you're a tool. A big tool who got played by the dealers.

Also, how many of you Audiobahn users classify their drivers ability to push air as, "How hard it HITZZZ!"?

There will not be one user on here wh reports there Audiobahn drivers as an SQ sub. If you do, then you're a liar. That's the end of that. And there is a reason why you don't have an SQ sub; (half of you won't know what SQ stands for without googling it.) It's because you bought a rediculously over-priced sub. They probably sold you an Audiobahn amp as well, why, because you don't know anything and you listen to dealers.

That's right, you didn't take the time to check out anything, you bent over and let the good guys at Best Buy stick it in.

Want to know why you Audiobahn drivers are blowing so soon, and so fast? Because you don't know trash, and you wasted money on a "dud" company.

If you'll notice, the only time you ever read good things about Audiobahn, the owners have difficulty spelling correctly, and don't understand punctuation.

[/end rant]

All I can say is Damn. I didn't expect this to get heated. I'm really just looking for the best sub/amp for the money. Everybody definitely has different opinions on what's the best.

it is true though. and i am an alpine owner here. completely UNsatisfied with the Type-R subs and speakers. i expected better being that yes Alpine is a well-known company. but definitely not good enough for me. i am swapping out my stuff when i can. and you don't need 4 speakers. you should have just got a good component set. and why did you get pioneer coaxials. those are crap.

Heard good things about their 6x8 3way speakers. Heard nothing but bad things about their subs and amps.

There isn't anything wrong with Pioneer's Premier line of Subwoofers.

My first choice was 2 10" pioneers from the premier line, but the installer recommended anything but pioneer. His recommended Alpine, MTX or Kicker.

my dad put pioneer 3ways in his truck and my mom's old taurus. they sounded like crap to ME. even my Alpine components were better. aren't the Premier components supposed to be pretty good too though?

I'm not worried about it. If they sound like crap, I'm only out about $50. I got them from a friend of mine so if I don't like how they sound, I'll just get something different.
