I would rather run 6.5 comps then any oval speaker any day...

What is your budget and I can make some recomendations.

Also, would you consider amping the speakers.

budgets not an issue but i had already ordered these without thinking about the depth so im stuck with them unless i return them. and i have no sound in my car right now so i really dont want to have to send them back and wait for new ones. im definately amping the speakers at one point, but not until after other mods.

Two options...

1. Remove material from behind where the speaker mounts. ie. cut plastic from a baffle tec.

2. Buysome hdf or mdfand make two .25 inch spacers to mount under the speaker. Make sure the grill will still fit and you could even try two spacers if one isn't enough.

Those are pricinples you can use on any car. I am a classic mustang owner that has no experience with late model installtion, but I have used those ideas on a lot of other cars.

No problem. Let me know how it turns out. Take plenty of pics to post your progress.

When your ready for an amp, let me know. I can make some suggestions that will be great bang for the buck.

I have used 3/4 in mdf to pull the speaker out and had no problem with hitting the door panel.

There is that late model experience I needed....

I used 1.5 inches total on my pathfinder once.
