95GT alarm problem
Well after looking again maybe it's only keyless entry. I still can't figure out why the shiny switch in pic 1 has to be pressed SOMETIMESwhile turning the key to start the engine- won't even crank unless it's pressed - dash lights up though. Also would like to disable automatic locks after engine is started - nothing in the factory manual.

it is an old code alarm piece that was made for ford and installed at the dealer. I have a code alarm in my 94 gt and the remote is not only identicle but the brain is also almost identicle.
What do you want to do with it? If the switch on DOES have something to do with the starter kill then that is ABNORMAL for code alarm and for ford. This may be some strange programming feature if you want to turn it off. It obvoisly has a normally open starter kill onboard since in the Upper right it has a key side and starter side for the disable. it could also be malfunctioning since it is more then 10 yrs old now. Be carefull movin it around as if the two wires listed for the start kill slide off(code alarm uses a standard spade which can do this) your car will not start no matter if you push the button er not.........

What can I do with it? Can I do any programming on it? Would a different aftermarket set plug into the harness that is already plugged into this one?
Like I said earlier, turning off the auto locks upon engine start and figuring out why the switch has to be pushed occasionally - the little switch doesn't appear to be connected to the engine wires you mentioned. Oh and if you hold the switch in for 15 seconds with the key on -engine off it begins to beep the horn and activate the locks 3 times. FOB setup??. Thanks!

the programming sequence on the older units was done by simply pushing the button in and holding it and then turning the ignition on-off-on-off-on(I believe, this was a decade ago) and releasing the button. I am really perty sure that the button is just for programming and when you hold it down and start it you may confusing it to think you are tryin to program it. After you entered into programming mode you would hit the button in a confusing sequence(one person normally is paying attention to the button and another guy is reading the programming instructions as you do it). It is a two person job to keep read the instructions and get the sequence correct..... I can see if some of my peeps can dig it up if you are interested.
Do you have a led on the dash that flashes or stays on or is it a "security" light?
That hrns will not match anything currently made to allow you to easily switch it out. IT will make installinga new one much much easier since all the facotry wires have already been located for ya.

Yes, if your guys can dig up anything I'd me most thankful! Tried all morning using the faxback through 1-800-fordkey and got nothing usable.
Has no security light at all-- there is the "theft" portion of my instrument panel tho which never lights up.

darn, the lightwould help us to know what mode it was in........
Is there a silver toggle switch somewhere? there is normally one with the coda alarm. One way would be for keyless entry only and the other would activate the alarm/keyless.

Wnt all over it- no switch . Have figured out that the only time the under dash button doesn't need to be pressed is when the car is started the first time after using the remote fob to unlock. Turn the car off and it has to be pressedto restart.....
what yer alarm is doing would confuse me enough in person to figure out that I would recommend gutting it and startin new. With the strange way this thing is acting I would hope that it is because it is programmed strangly rather then being wired poorly but ya never know... A badly done alarm can leave you stranded or on a tow truck.
