I recently bought an aftermarket radio, and was wondering what the best way to install it was. I believe there is an amp installed (behind the ford stock headunit), and I heard from a guy at circuit city that a wiring harness is 50 dollars to work with that amp. What if I dont want the amp? Anybody have any advise on installing an aftermarket? It's an Alpine cda-9807. Also, any literature on the web about installing headunits? Thx.</P>
as long as the head unit have an amp in it then id just rip the ford amp out....thats what i did. and the harness shouldnt be that much. also try to find a car stereo place.....not circuit city and best buy.
i got my harness at best buy for$15and everything works. Blew a couple of fuses and had to buy a mounting kit ($20 at best buy) but it looks clean and works great.
