Give me some feedback on the mach 1000 system vs the 460. I have had experience with the 460 but not the 1000. How much better is the 1000? How much better is the sound on the 1000? How much better is the bass with the 1000? Is the 1000 worth it? Fill me in.

 

i've got the mach 1000, the bass is pretty good. As far as sound quality, i think the only thing that is upgraded is the added subs/amps. Not sure though. I would not have payed for the upgrade if i was buying new, but since i bought used and it was already in the car, i was stuck with it.. Cant fit the golf clubs in the car though [:@] I'm please, however.

 

They might sound decent for a factory system, but i think that they are both a waste of money. You can go and buy some decent sounding, higher quality audio compenents than wasting your money on these systems.

You can get a set of jl or pioneer 6x8's for around 150, i got my pioneer rev series for 120 and they sound way better than the mach systems, and then you could even add JL audio 12 WO's which are cheap like 80 dollars for a 12 and get a nice small directed amp, and this will sound better than the mach system. I first had a mach 460 then those crappy amps burned up so i bought a Directed 300D, and 2 WO's and they sounded so much better, but now i have the W6V2'S which are awesome.

 

Yeah, i was wondering the same kinda thing... I went to a shop to price out a system and it was a complete rip off. Thing is, I dont know the first thing about making custom sub enclosures though and to be honest, anything that is significantly better than mach 460 is gonna cost $1000+. You can get a mach 1000 upgrade on ebay for about $400 and have something that installs clean and works with what you've got.
