Default amp repair-how to.

im a diy person ive got a small 400 watt amp and it will only play a clip of sound for a split second before it goes into protected mode.

everything is fine no speaker wires are crossed, what could be the problem?
is it something internal in the amp?

and how would i go about fixing it?
thanx

what do you have connected to it, and what kind of amp is it. Does it go into protect mode with no speakers wired up?

Make sure all your power connects are good. Then open it up and do a visual look to see if you see any damaged components.
