Is this system any good? How does it stack up to the crappy shaker 500 in the 05+?

 

If you are looking to buy one I don't reccomend it. There are plenty of better options out there...

What can I do with a mach 460? are the speakers any good, ie good enough that putting an aftermarket headunit in would drastically improve the sound?

i dont know wut everyone is talking about saying it sucks, because it doesnt suck, but theres better stuff out there. and i know wut im talking about i went from a caddy devillewith 8 speakers and 4 12's to a stang with the mach 460 and 2 12's, but if your thinkin about buyin one...dont

 

What about keeping the mach 460 speakers and just replacing the headunit?

 

I dont know why people are bashing the mach460. Dont bother trying to install the mach system in a mach car. I did and it cost me close to 800 for everything. All the wiring from teh firewall back needs to be replaced. The 460 system is not a great system for rap or anything with heavy bass. I listen to alot of metal and the rich sound quality suits my taste fine.

 

I like the 460, I just wish I could get my CD's out of it without using needle nose pliers!! But I don't mind the sound quality, I would like to change just the headunit but don't want the headache of modding everything else just to make it work
