hey guys, i am strongly considering purchasing this in-dash navigation system from thecameraprofessionals.com for $699. is this a good unit? any info would be greatly appreciated.
my brother has the avic-d1 in his 04 stang and its amazing! no regrets at all...there arent really any finger prints on the screen...not shinny material. Hes got xm/xmnavtraffic to go with it and its really cool. The eq's are really adjustable and the sound quality is good.
Now take all of this and put it in the refined version of the d3...and you have a perfect unit.
avic411.com has all the answers you need, and I would stay away from that seller. Get it from your local shop, an authorized Pioneer dealer or Crutchfield.

+1. If you're gonna drop a bunch of cash on it, it's worth it to pay a little extra & get it from someone you know is legitimate, and preferably from someone local who you can go back to if there are any problems. Those discount online retailers are kind of shady, especially when it comes to stuff like electronics.
the thing is, pioneer suggests the selling price to be $1000, and i don't have the money for that. if i can get a brand spankin new unit for three hundred dollars cheaper, i'm going to jump on it. best buy said they'll install it whether i bought it from them or not, and it does come with the manufacturers warranty.
