Default Mach 460 Amps

I have a 2001 Cobra convertible with the stock Mach 460 stereo. I get a noise through the speakers when I tap on the brake pedal. I've disconnected the left amp (driver's side) in the trunk, and the problem goes away. So, I know it's related to that amp. I want to determine if it the amp, or the wiring. Can I switch the two amp that are located in the trunk?. They look to be the same, and have the same connectors. If the problem goes away when I swap amps, then I know it's the amp. If it's still there, then I know I have a wiring problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Okay, it's not the amps. I switched the left and right amps, and the radio noise is still there when the left amp is plugged in, and goes away when it is unplugged. I'm assuming that means I have a ground problem somewhere. Does anyone know if the harness for the amp is grounded near the rear of the car? If so, any ideas on where I should look? If the harness from the amp runs back to the front to be grounded there, where might I look? I'm assuming if the radio wasn't grounded properly, the radio noise would not be specific to one amp, or the other, it would be the whole system.

If anyone could put me on the right track, it would be appreciated.

Hey everbody i got a quick question. Where are the amps located in the trunk of the mustangs. I just got my car and have a lot of questions. I am currently trying to place a set of 10" pioneer subs with a 750W pioneer amp into the rear of the vehicle and i was wondering if these items would work or if the stock amps would work. any and all help would be appreciated.

Depends on if you have a convert or a coupe, if you have the vert they should be located behind the rear seats by your convert top lift motor, if the coupe, they are mounted under the rear deck by the rear speakers.

is it very hard to replace the stock amps with a single 750W amp to run two 10's or will the stock amps work. also will the single amp fit in the same locations as the factory amps or will i need to find a better location.

it is not hard to replace but you would need to rerun new power wires and it more then likely would be difficult to put back in the same place.
