Default Installing radio

We are trying to install a JVC cd/radio in a 95 convertible with no luck. No sound from the speakers and no power to the radio unless the yellow battery wire and the red wire are hooked together. When we cut what we though were the eight speaker wires and wired them to the new adapter we get no sound . To make it worse the door locks quit working, the speedometer and tach quit also. When you press the lock putton the dash lights up! The car came with an am/fm stereo. Is there a site with instructions specific to this car? I need Help! This is my girlfriends car and it's turning into a night mare. Thanks

damn dude sounds like ur fuked [&:]

a basic repair manual should show the wiring schematics for the radio and door locks, etc. Like a Haynes or Chilton's that you can pickup from your local parts store. you should get a multimeter as well so you can test for 12v switched and constant power, as well as checking for continuity on your speaker wires to your radio so you know which is which because colors often change by the time they make their way through the car.

THATS WHY I NEVER C_U_T ANY WIRES WITH OUT A BOOK
ALL I DID WAS UNPLUGED MY STOCK RAIDO AND RAN MY OWN SPEAKER WIRES,
AND POWER WIRES TO THE FUSE BOX ALL MUSTANGS ARE WIRED WITH POWER
WIRES THAT RUN MANY DIFFERENT THINGS AT ONCE THROUGH A SINGLE FUSE.
FOR EXAMPLE ON MY STANG IF THE TURN SIGNAL FUSE WERE TO BLOW
I LOOSE DASH LIGHTS AND PARKING LIGHTS AND THE DOME LIGHT.
IF I WERE YOU I WOULD DISCONNECT THE BATTERY HOOK ALL THE WIRES BACK TOGETHER THE WAY THEY WERE AND RUN YOUR OWN WIRES.

sounds like you cut the wrong wiring harness . Are you sure you cut the right one from the radio?

just incase, you do know the green-yellow/yellow-black are switched / continous power? if you don't connect them both, it will only work when your key is in the ignition.

it shouldn't be affecting your doors or anything, because the wiring for all that is under the steering column and ****... unless you actually spliced the damn wires from under the dash.. that shouldn't be happening... and if you did - ****ty

goto walmart and buy the $8 wiring harness for 95-97 ford's

it will even say on that new harness of yours what each wire is, then go here:
