Default Battery to stereo

I can I run a wire from my battery to my stereo for a memory wire. Or is it possible to take the wire that goes to the clock, y-splice it, and take it to the stereo, as well as the clock. If so any idea on which wire is the battery.

I would make sure you put your own inline fuse in though, most new decks come with one, keep in mind lots of modern decks have quite a draw on the yellow wire and may pop factory fuses if connected tot he wrong sources. It best to run it to the battery just put the fuse as close to the battery as possible.
