I just installed a Pioneer AVIC-D3 in my '06 GT. The install should be essentially the same. I have the Shaker 500. You will just need the correct harness adapter. I don't know about the Shaker 1000. There are two harness adapters you'll need to use. You can buy them as a set or as seperate pieces. They are made by Metra. The first one is used to connect your power, ground, battery and full range speakers. The second harness is used to connect the amp and subs. As I said, I just did this with a Shaker 500 so if you have a Shaker 1000 it may be different.

I didn't have to splice into any wires in the car. The Pioneer has a built in sensor that allows it to function without using the VSS connection. All the other connections were made through the use of the harness adapters. This is what you need:

Metra Harness Adapter

That link shows the kit on backorder but it also lists the individual parts. There are actually two harnesses you need. Once you have these I can help you rewire the amp harness adapter to work in your car. You have to move a couple of the pins around. There is also a need to reduce the voltage on the amp turn on lead from your aftermarket radio. I'm going to get that info and complete it on my car today. I'll keep you posted on the necessary steps. It will work without this but the speakers will pop when you turn the car on/off.

It's not really complicated at all. You buy the dash kit, harnesses and then just crimp and plug everything together. It's actually very easy.
