Default Elemental Designs SQ10 Slimline

Just got back from the ICIX meet at eD. They had a Term-Lab mic so we did some runs with peoples car who showed up. The one that impressed me most...

Scion tC, eD 6500s front stage, nine.4 amp, 1-SQ10.

128.4 @ 55 hZ. Now yes 128 isn't a super impressive number, but when it's on a real mic, a single 10" and it has a 3" mounting depth, and getting fed about 200 watts... That is pretty impressive to me

So for anyone looking for some bass and wants to save space, heres my suggestion.

Just wanted people to see some real numbers.

On a side note, there was a Jeep with a 19Ov2in a massive (12 cube-ish enclosure) nine.1, and he hit 145.9. The roof, doors, everything was flexing. Pretty cool.

Another tC with 32- 7Kv2's and a nine.1 he metered at 141, just playing hip hop, not test tones or anything. He also did a 0-200 sweep that was very impressive, those little 6's really held onto every note.

Anyhow just some results for people to check out

i'm thinking of getting two of these slimline subs and a pioneer avic-D3, with eD's nine.2 amp for the subs.

im also considering ordering their eDi 6500s component sys. with a nine.4 amp for that?

what do you guys think?

You would only need another 2 channel for the component system. Otherwise sounds like a good idea

Dont believe I have ever suggested anyone to buy a 19Ov2 they aren't realistic for anyone in these forums. Just about everyone is looking for something a little less than that.

I would also hope you wouldn't base your opinion on an entire company from hearing one speaker either. I would also like to assume your friend has the whole thing set-up right and built an enclosure for it properly, why did your friend buy it then? Wouldn't you be a good friend and try to help him by talking him into getting something better then?

And in your perspective what is decent? They aren't made to be something someone would put in a car for normal listening, they are for being extremly loud for the most part.

If I told you I have $300 and wanted something sickening loud, that still sounded decent, for an SUV what would you recommend?

300 to spend on one sub... hmm i would go with a 12 inch memphis mojo ora btl or even a fi sub. All can be found pretty easily for300 and will hit nicer but your right i shouldent judge it on one sub. You seem to knowalot about this company. What would there best setup be for competition? Then ill try and get one into my store here and see what we can do.

ED in a comp LOL. Not built for SPL by any means. MOJO LOL junk. FI's are ok but still the XXX have the BTL's crying. If i had 300 id get me a DD 3500 series sub and beat all above in SPL im not talking about SQ which dd's arent made for besides there 9100's. Cactus Sounds are very very nice own 1 myself but only have 1 model and shipped from germany paid over 1200$ for that bad boy. www.Cactussounds.comnow ive made 9500 series's cry with this sub.
