Looking for nice bass--no subs though
What's the best way to get some really nice bass going on? I'm not trying to put some subs in my car, I don't really care for that much bass as I don't listen to rap. Mostly I listen to rock, metal, HARDCORE SCREAMO (haha), and lately some Pepper (kinda like Sublime, nice bass guitar going on).
I was thinking replace the speakers, but I don't know much at all about audio...so which should I replace? The 6x9's? Just shoot some good speakers at me that are reasonably priced, around $100-130. Remember, I only want some extra bass not a whole system since the stock system is already really good.

I'd shoot for Fosgate, Kicker or Alpines. I had some Fosgate 6x9's in the rear deck of my car and they had some very good bass.
Are you sure your car uses 6x9s? I know mine uses 6'

Yeah, but there is also 6x8, so HA! Crutchfield says my car has 6x8's...sooo I'll just go by that for now.

Ha, you got me.
I'd go for a different brand personally, Sony has never been on the upper side of Bass. Although with speaker clarity they are great. Really up to you.

Replace your fronts, since they are closer to your ears. If you replace the rears looking for more bass then you are simply saying you want woofers, but you kinda don't.
And I know this is slightly over your budget but they are awesome totally worth it, and you'll get better bass, mids and highs.

If you really cant spend the extra money I would go with these in the front. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3390
Just so you know your not going to achieve arelatively noticeable difference with doing something like these. What you really need to do is buy an ampand a set of componentsand then you would get what your looking for.
Persoanlly the situtation your in,I would do this. Buy the first set I posted, install them enjoy them. Then when you can save up an extra $100-150 buy an amplifier and amp those. Then maybe later down the road you want to add a subwoofer, you can.
By the way, if you are looking for the best way to upgrade your audio, swapping out your headunit is honestly the bestplace to start.

And yes your car has 5x7/6x8's all the way around.
I like kenwood or pioneer or alpines, and since you do not want a sub still get an amp to make it more crisp and you can get a little more bass out. If you got tweeters make sure you got bass blockers installed. Your good to go then. Rock on.
