Replace your fronts, since they are closer to your ears. If you replace the rears looking for more bass then you are simply saying you want woofers, but you kinda don't.

And I know this is slightly over your budget but they are awesome totally worth it, and you'll get better bass, mids and highs.

If you really cant spend the extra money I would go with these in the front. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3390
Just so you know your not going to achieve arelatively noticeable difference with doing something like these. What you really need to do is buy an ampand a set of componentsand then you would get what your looking for.

Persoanlly the situtation your in,I would do this. Buy the first set I posted, install them enjoy them. Then when you can save up an extra $100-150 buy an amplifier and amp those. Then maybe later down the road you want to add a subwoofer, you can.

By the way, if you are looking for the best way to upgrade your audio, swapping out your headunit is honestly the bestplace to start.
First one looks goods, is that like mini subs in the front? How much bass would I get, stock bass is pretty nice, compare it to that.

From the title I thought we might be talking about fishing in shallow water.

No it's a component set like alot of other speakers out there. They are just already in a pre-loaded baffle, so you dont have to build one for the 5x7 stock size.

Compared to stock? Your highs are the biggest thing, these will be much cleaner and more crisp. Not too harsh though. Your mid and low end bass will be miuch better too. And like I suggested before, get an aftermarket amp for these and then they will really shine!

What should I look for in a head unit? I'm off work tomorrow, so I'm going to head over to Tweeter, Best Buy, and Circuit City, then Wawa where my friend knows a guy who "has connections". The only thing I have a problem with is how head units look so out of place, but oh well. And I have the money, I just don't want to spend a lot of it on sound. I have other things I want to do to my car, and its my birthday coming up this Sunday, so that should be good for a few bucks.

Eclipse, the function better, not to goddy looking, best SQ (IMO).

Right now woofersetc.com has their last year model CD5000 on sale for $300. One of the best deals out there for a killer unit. It was normally around $500.

The thing you really want to upgrade and make a good decision on is your headunit. Without a good headunit, nothing else will reach its fully potential. I always had a good deck no matter how crappy woofers I was running and thats why all my friends were wondering why they had the same crap subwoofers and speakers and mine sounded better.

If you want to spend less money, check out the CD3100, $215 no where near as many options but if you really want to save $85 thats what I would do.

Damn baby, that's expensive haha. What sets it apart from the others? And why would I need to run something like that if all I'm getting is those two front speakers?

Like I said, your not just getting something fancy looking, this will help out a ton with the quality of cound that is getting sent to your new speakers.

When I drop my CD7000 in my car, I still had the factory 460 speaker system in. I had a ton of people ask me again and again if I upgraded my speakers or what, why am I lying to them about putting in new speakers etc. It really can help that much.

If that is out of your price range, go to woofersetc.com, go to Eclipse, click cd players, organize by lowest price first and pick the opne thats in your price range or just click here. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...1&sort=low

I cant stress enough though how much of a difference this will make. Why do you think I prioritized upgrading my head-unit before my front speakers? If you really want to hear the difference, buy your speakers install them, order your headunit listen to your system and tune it as best you can, then drop in your new headunit to and then tune it the best you can and you make a decision whether it was really worth it.

What can I fit in my car? If you know it, just list all the speakers, like 6x7, 6x9 whatever I could put in there. And which part of the car it would go in. Thanks
