Default Navigation System

I'm looking to add navigation to my 03 GT. I could just go out and grab on of the suction onto your dash units, but theft is a concern for me. The car will be in a college environment, so I would rather not have it out in plain sight. I have the mach stereo in the car too, so replacing the headunit is a possibility, but an option I'd take last. What do you think I should do?

Just get one that goes on the dash. Use it for trips etc., but leave it at home when just driving around locally. If you really want to have it with you at all times just put in the glove box or under the seat or something. I was going to get an in-dash unit but my fear of theft is exactly what is keeping me from doing that. If someone sees it and really wants it they will get it, regardless of how its attached to the car.

I second getting one of the suction cup ones. There's little involved to remove the unit from the mount, and you can just take it to class with you, or just store it in the glove box like I used to. They are a lot cheaper than the in-dash units and they work great. You can geta color, large, touch screen model for anywhere from $200-$400. I would recommend Garmin first and foremost. I had one of their earlier models and I loved it, and they sell all the newer ones where I work and I find them just as easy to use and navigate. Tom Tom to me seems a bit overpriced and loaded with all sorts of unnecessary bells and whistles.
