Alright guys i got a simple question about a 2000 Gt with the Mach 460 system. in my car i have the tadio and CD player separate the radio is on top and the CD player is on the bottom. I had a couple problems with the factory gauges and i have decided to put some aftermarked gauges in the center console where the CD player used to be. I pulled out the CD player and when i unpluged the connections the radio died. My question is there anyway to keep the stock headunit and run it without the cd player or am i goingto have to get a new headunit?

 

hmm, the radio should not have died. The radio has it's own power source......there is only one cable that connect the radio to the cd player, it is an 8 pin connector....

 

correct. The cd player is a slave unit to the tape deck.....

 

sorry guys but when i said it died the sound did the radio was still on power wise. i was working on the cd player with the radio on but when i pulled the top plug the music went off.

is there anyway for me to maybe syitch some wires or buy a special harness?

 

cause what im trying to do is to actually rin the stock radio without the cd player
