Default Adding a sub

I know these questions have been asked a million times but...

I'm buying a 12" sub, 1400 watt amp, completewiring, and a box from my friend.

What do I need to addthat12" subonto my stock 2003Mach 460 sound system besides what he's selling me? And can I use my stock head unit? Thanks

From what I heard from anyother post somewhere on here, you can buy a line out converter, and look for what is called a "data" line that goes into the stock amps for the speakers. Basically you tap off that data line, and use the line out converter to hookup to get a signal to your amp/sub.
