i have a 04 vert, i took out the headunit and replaced it with a alpine flip out dvd, and recently i replaced the back speakers with audiobahn 6 1/2 three way speakers and the front with 6 x 9s, when i turn up my sterio, the back speakers would cut out, anybody know what the problem would be?

okay, output signal on stock radio is low level and goes into the stock amp, where it is...amplified(of course) output on aftermarket headunits tend to be high so i would get a "line converter"(or a 4 pot for dialing in resistence. Or the correct wiring harness with pre amps out going to rear speakers with crossover control.

your problem is that the factory mach speakers are 2 ohms, your replacements are probably 4 ohms. The factory amps to not like to push any speakers other then the stockers and need to be bypassed and ran off of your decks amp or off of a seperate amp. page 2 of my sig shows how easy it is to bypass in a 94 and yours should be similar but I have not had my hands in one to be for sure. find the factory amp in the front and see if you can follow the hrns's going to it to find a bypass hrns similar to the one I am pointing to on my cardomain page.
