i currently have a passport8500 and im looking into buying a nav system. looked into the pioneer avic's alot but i have read so many problems about them i tihnk ill pass. the 06 mustang only has 1 power out and currently my radar is connected to it.. how much would it cost to get a navigatin system and my radar hardwired to some alternate source.. i cant plus both of them into the same outlet.. is it possible to have them get power from somewhere else?

neither one of those isa large current demand and would be fine comming off of the same power sourse. They make cig lighter adaptors that split it into 2 or you can hardwire it into the circuit. A shop will charge probably 30-45 mins labor to do this and that rate will vary depending on where you are.

One other thing to look into is going to the Passport website, they have very nice hardwire kits to make the interior of your car less cluttered. since your detector is an 8500, you can remote mount the smart controls.
