Which sub now?(Post if you know me on MF.com).
I would get a Brax just so I have one, and of course if I got a good price on one. Otherwise Tru, McIntosh, Zapco, Audison, DLS are all great high end choices.
Yea seight did quote some very nice amps but are very $$$ zapco's c2k-9.0 will run you new prob over 1500$. Well worth it 2200rms at 12v at 2ohm not bad at all!! Tru Hammers are also nice but in the 1000+ $ range!
Well...................the other buyer effing backed out from buying my speakers after we already agreed on a price and location to meet up. I get back from the shop and I see an email saying "sorry I got some speakers the other day". OK WTF. We had a contract in writing pretty much. Whatever, I will sell them to someone else since there were other buyers. Also, we found out that my MRV-F345 is NOT bridgeable into a 2ch, which I thought it WAS. So I'm only sending 70w to each component set right now and I'm kinda pissed about that. My battery cables were already 4 gauge stock, so my installer said I only need to upgrade them when I upgrade the battery to amp cables, so I didn't do that. Also, he said not to take the caps out because although they weren't doing much at ALL for me, they weren't hurting me and I wouldn't get much money for them anyway. So he advised to leave them in (and I brought these in when I had them installed...I didn't buy them from him) for now until we get really deep into upgrading stuff.
So that brings me to where I am now...in need of a inexpensive 2ch amp before I get my new sub. Well guess what...Audison is releasing their "new" (black) LRx amps pretty soon, and he wants to get rid of the "old" (blue) ones that are on display so he said he would give me a really good deal on them. I'm going to be getting a LRx 2.4 and 1.1. The 2.4 is 120x2 I believe, and the 1.1 is 420x1 @ 4ohm and 800 something @ 2ohm. New, I think they are 700-800 each, so hopefully he gives me a good deal since they are slightly used and "old" haha. He said he just wants to get rid of them so hopefully that means close-out price. He called up the Audison rep while I was standing there and asked him when the new ones were shipping (first week of September) and the rep kept asking why he wanted to know. He told him he had a customer that wanted to buy the old display ones and he was going to give me a good deal. The Audison rep kept asking WHY would he do that since the amps are EXACTLY the same except for color. And my installer goes "because he is a good customer and doesn't care about the color, and they are used, and I want to have your most current product on display!" Haha shut that guy up. So in a nutshell...I'm getting me some Audisons pretty soon! I know they're not the top-of-the-line, but better than what I have and I will get a better amount of power to those CDTs, which sound pretty damn good. I think I'm going to get an "Up-Stage" kit though because I had the tweeters temporaily mounted on the kick panels with velcro so I could re position them and get them where I want. It is a good location, but the Up-Stage kit should bring the soundstage up. It is a little low now...
So now, I'm selling my old sub amp too becsuse I'm going to use my 4ch for my dad's truck (the rear 2ch are bridgeable but not the front 2 [&:]). Get a lower-line CDT comp set and small sub to be powered by the rear 2ch and call it a day.
I was thinking like $300 for my MRD-M1001, how does that sound?
$250 for the subs and box with the trim panels (fits any 94-04 coupe without the Mach 1000)
$200 for both sets of speakers with 5x7-6.5 adapter
Also, I'm really considering that new Alpine iPod radio. I want to add Bluetooth for that new law in 2008, and I really want better SQ from my iPod since that is all I listen to...so yea that is my update for now...

Why you mad at it? Their older stuff was way better. I just like the new iPod radio...no CD player. Fully digital connection to the Video iPod. Lets you search just like you are using your iPod. Which is what I want...
But yea...I might even be getting the Audison LR3.1k if he has one, and power the whole system off of it. I always wanted to do a single amp set-up just for the hell of it. It puts out 160x2 and then 650x1 @ 4 ohm/1150x1 @ 2 ohm for the sub. I'd rather just do one amp.
What are your thoughts on the Hertz Mille sub?

Never heard of Hertz until you just mentioned them. Looked at the Mille, looks kinda cool. Couldn't tell you much else.
The 9851 is a 2005 model. My 9835 is a 2004, which was the last of the "good" ones. From there on, the quality went way down. Yea everyone has the "direct-connect" iPod connection now, but Alpine's new iDA-X001 is supposed to be a lot better. Check it out: iDA-X001
Oh yea the 9851 was a crap unit anyway. It was the "base" model with the fold-down face I believe...WACK!
I really hope he has that LRX3.1 though. If not, you think I would be fine with the 2.4? I think I would honestly rather have the 2.9, but I'm not sure if he has oneo of those either. More power = better lol. But yea that Hertz sub was one my installer was recommending. Said it is supposed to be better than W7. Psh big deal huh? Still costs like $700 a driver. Still think I'm going to go with the 13OV. He was telling me that he thought the eD stuff was over-hyper by the underground people. I don't think he has installed/listened to any of it though. He swears by Focal, which isn't necessarily a wrong thing to swear by, but of course he swears by expensive (although nice sounding and nicely built) product--->he is the owner! I feel like my ES-620s are about equal to the Polyglass Focals, but I got them for a lot less.

eD is said to be that because no dealers can/will support it because why.... They cant sell it. I am not say eD is the best, but for the money it's nearly impossible to beat. PERIOD. Put a 13Ov.2 against anything under $250, it cant touch it. Get one and show him whats up. What sucks is that even when you show people what eD is about they will still have something to say, no matter what.

ALWAYS. So dont listen to people. You could have the top of the line system and got it for free and someone will have something to say. So get what you like, thats all that matters!
