Default antenna problems

well i replaced my stock antenna a while back with an ebay shorty. It happened instantly, but the quality of radio is even worse by the day now. I was wondering what a good, hopefully shorty antenna is, I am thinking for ordering one from americanmuscle.com but money is tight right now and I was hopeing to get some advice.

oh and also, the feature that reads the title of the song/station/artist will freeze almost ever time, is this the problem of the antenna as well? or is it the unit?

thanks!

Could be. If it is getting a crappy signal it may just be repeating what its last to have known. And if you have only been having issues since installing your new antenna... I can only assume thats the problem.

P.S. check wiring, make sure all your wires were connected/re-connected properly. Even check behind the radio. Most of the little frustrating problems you have with any car are the little issues that were mistakenly overlooked

antenna's are not just pieces of metal stickin off of the car they are finely tuned to recieve signals in the optimum range. I always wondered if the shorty's looked the same electronically to the radio....

if you like the look of the shorty then leave it on but check out what is called an under-dash strip antenna. I have used these with good success and it is what I am plannin on using if/when I get my car painted as I would like to have the ant shaved.
