Default Installing New Headunit tomorrow...

I bought a pioneer headunit from my bro that he had had in his old truck. I want to put it in tomorrow myself because of prices of install around here. Anyways, it's already got a wiring harness on it. I'm not sure if it's universal or just specifically for his old truck. I don't suppose anyone had a picture of their wiring harness laying around? And...I think I forgot to mention that I know absolutley nothing about installing audio stuff....I'm just hoping to unhook crap from the old one and plug it into the new one???

I have the regular speaker system btw, no mach or anything.

I promis it will not be that easy but we need to know what kind of truck it is comming out of and what you are putting it in. There is no "universal" hrns but we can get you through it more then likely.

It is coming out of a 1993 Gmc Sierra Z71 and I'm putting it into my 01 Mustang V6 with regular speaker sys.

why don't you order a harness for your mustang on ebay.
that would safe time and confusion. you don't have to rewire.

no, the hrns will not fit. Take your factory radio out and then make a trip to your local auto parts store. Use your radio to pick the proper hrns. You can also take it to a car audio shop and they could help you but the hrns will cost more.

I got it installed. Had to get a harness to attach to the stock mustang harness, then a harness to connect the other harness to the radio. so for 40 bucks, I had it installed. Better than the 75 a place wanted to do it.
