Default Car Alarm

Hey guys looking for some help and opinions for a car alarm.
I have a 04 GT and i want to get the 2 way alarm with the LCD screen. I have two options that I am looking at right now.

1. Ultra Starter
2. Audiovox

What do you think i should go with and what are your opinions on these two types? I would apprecate all the help. Thanks

ttocs, I actually have a Clifford system, and while it works great and all, I had my car broken into this past weekend. Do you know how they got past the alarm? They simply popped the hood and cut the ground wire to the speaker of the alarm. Have you ever heard of anything like that before??? It's sooo obvious now but I would never think anyone would think to do that. Whoever broke into my car was a professional.

Search for "Car Vandalized" if you're interested in hearing the details. But anyone with an alarm, BE CAUTIONED. Get the speaker mounted somewhere deeper under the hood where no one can get to, and even get a back up battery for it so if they disconnect your car battery, at least the siren will still go off.

That can be easily solved by purcahsing a dedicated power siren. It has a built in 9 volt battery so even if/when the wire is snipped, the thing still goes nuts. And these are usually around $40. Kinda stupid not to buy one if you spend $400-500 on an alarm.

And you may very well have not been dealing with pros. If a speaker was making noise and I wanted it to stop I would cut the wire going to it too.
