strange buzz....
I've purchased a 2003 Mustang back in January. In March, I installed an Alpine CDA-9857 (the car originally had the stock single disc player.) The car still has the stock speakers as well.
This morning, I noticed that when I turn the volume all the way down, there is a very feint buzzing sound coming from the back.... It goes away when I power off the stereo. I can turn the key to auxilary and turn on the stereo and it won't buzz..... only when the engine is running. It doesn't get louder or intensify when i rev up the car, so I don't know what it could be.... it doesn't seem to be coming from the front speakers either. I can fade and balance the sound to each individual speaker, and it still buzzes in the rear with the volume on 0... if I turn it up to 1 or 2, it seems to go away. So, I don't know why it's doing this... It can't be the deck, because it doesn't do it when the engine is off, so I guess I may have a bad ground somewhere...... I dunno. It may have done this back when I had the stock stereo, but I never noticed it until today. I guess it's not hurting anything, since I can't hear it unless i'm at 0 volume and parked (it's a really quiet noise).... road noise and exhaust tend to drown it out on the road.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem or similar? I'm thinking some thicker plug wires on the engine, or something like that might fix it, if it's engine related, but like I said, it doesn't change with RPM......
If anyone knows anything, please let me know... thanks!
