Default ground wire

my cd player came with a ground wire with a metal connector on it to bolt down onto a screw. I can't find a screw behind where the cd player goes. So I was thinking of extending the ground wire and hooking the ground wire to one of the bolts that holds down the driver seat. Would this work? And can I extend the ground wire by splicing it with any type of wire, like speaker wire?

Default RE: ground wire

a ground wire should be as short as possible. I just grounded something to the bolt that holds the shifter down yesterday but if you cannot find a good spot then use the factory ground in the radio hrns..

You can splice a ground wire with what ever you want to extend it. wire is wire is wire.
