heres how it goes..in my 91 fox..

2 6x9s in the driver and passenger doors.. none in the rear they are blown ..
to my Pioneer DEH-1500 HU then that goes to my MRD-M301 350W Digital Alpine Amp
which then goes to my two Alpine Type S 12"s in Alpine Box...I bought the amp and speakers for 250.00 from a cousin. .pretty good deal if you ask me...the HU was 50.00 and to door speakers were free with the car...so a pretty decent system for 300....1500 if you include the car.

 

If you get yourself some decent front comps and a 2 channel amp to power them it sounds like you will have a pretty decent system.
