no sound?
well this morning I turned my car on and no sound was coming from the speakers. they worked perfectly fine the night before. So I took out the cd player and checked the wires and they all seemed to be in tact. The cd player turns on and says it playing so I have no idea what is going on. This happened to me about sa year ago and I guyess all of my speakers blew at once. So I had to get all new speakers. So I don't know how they would blow again. Because they are better than stock speakers. they are kickers. Also I got a new alpine cd player which was 20X's better than that crappy wal mart dual cd player I had.
So does anyone have any other suggestions why the sound isnt coming out. i just really hope its not the speakers again.

I don't know how you blow all your speakers at once but.
the cd player has power?

Word.
I can picture a short somewhere in the HU that would cause a massive spike to the speakers and blow them.
I don't think that is your problem.
Get out there with a multimeter and check your voltages at every power connection.

i need a little more info here. are you using stock amplifier with mach 460 system cause if so i would try to power the speakers with a seperate amplifier. My mach amp went out on me last week but it still would power stuff. It ended up causing a huge electrical drain and thats how i was able to track it down.
I have no mach 460. Just the regular that come with a GT.
I checked the back of the cd player for the remote wire and it looked like it was attached. I will have to check it again,
And what is the HU?
and what does your ground might have acred somewhere?

everything is hooked up right, sorry I have to chuckle as I have never had anyone come into the shop with a problem and rarely with everything working [:-].....
"and what does your ground might have acred somewhere?" the best I can give you there is a real definite maybe!
ok, so everything is hooked up right. Are there any loose connections in the back? What kind of connections did you make at the deck and speakers? Did you use crimp connectors or solder? Is there ANY bare wire either behind the deck or the speakers? Alpine has a safety feature to keep from burning its amps out. If ANY speaker is grounded or shorted, it shuts them all off. The easy way to disconnect this is to turn the deck on, and then disconnect one speaker(you can either cut a single wire to that speaker, or disconnect your connectors if they are removable). If nothing happens then reconnect that wire and go on to another wire, on another speaker. IF that speaker WAS the speaker that was grounded then when it is disconnected the others will then play. The proper way to test for this is to disconect all the speakers and then check to see if them have the proper impedence(number of ohms) with an ohm meter but the other way works find too........
