Default Mach 460 Head Unit in 00 stang?

Ok, before everyone bashes me for wanting the Mach 460 6cd headunit, let me explain. I have a 00 with the separate cd player and am/fm cassette player. The radio has be going on the fritz for the past couple months and now it is just starting to **** me off royaly. The cd player doesn't like to eject cd's, I have to hit play, then eject for about 5 minutes if I'm lucky to get my cd back. Also when I turn the volume to 40-50%, the sound just gets really low, like 10%. I figure I need a new headunit but I don't wanna dump a lot of money into a system right now, maybe in a year or so when I'm done with performance and exterior mods.

So I was browsing ebay the other day, and I see that the mach 460 6cd headunit can be had for around 50-75 dollars. Which is in my budget. I just need something to play cds since that is all I listen to 90% of the time. I don't care about ipod connectivity or pretty color lcd screens, or gps capability. So from reading some of the posts, the 460 is a half decent unit if it isn't already screwed up. So finally, my questions are as follows, I haven't been in any newer mustangs other than my 00. I see that all the posts/auctions selling this particular unit say it's for the 01 and up mustang. Are there fitment issues? Is there a way to use it in a 00? If so, what would be required to make it work?

its twice the size of your cd player, it wont fit. you dont want it anyways

i'd just look for a plain aftermarket deck on ebay, theres brand new ones that are decent for like 100$ new...so a used one would be in the same price area and yes u can make it work with a mach460 if you have one. theres a how-to somewhere.

Cool, thanks for the link. I tried the search function but couldn't come up with anything. Looks like I'll just have to stick with my crappy radio for a while longer.
