Default New DVD Navigation Stereo

Hello all, any help is much appreciated!

I have an 06 with the Shaker 500 system. I'm looking to upgrade to a new stereo that includes:
DVD playback, IPOD compatible, Bluetooth (cell phone), and GPS navigation.

I've looked around and have found models with all my needs but my idea was shot down by a Best Buy tech that said the new mustangs are not compatible because of the pre-installed Shaker systems.

So, in other words, he said there's nothing I can do. Is this true?

I was wondering if anyone in here new of a stereo that had all of the above and is compatible with and 06 Shaker 500.

Thanks in advance.

how good are ya at re-wiring? How deep do you want to go into this? If you are not beyond it I would reccomend replacing all the speakers, amps and HU and running your own wiring to everything. Just keep your Shaker stuff incase you sell the car.

I suck.

My idea was to give the whole thing to a tech and let him deal with it. I went to Best Buy, picked out the one I wanted, and the guy said it won't work with my car.

After browsing through the forums, I see a lot of people have been able to do it and prety satisfied. Is that the only way?

you can order an adapter harness from crutchfield that you wire intothe new Hu's harness then it simply pluggs into the factory harness. Call Crutchfield and see what they say.

The guy from Best Buy is full of it. You can get a New deck with GPS, IPod, etc. I currently have an Eclispe AVN 5500. Go to www.woofersetc.com, www.sounddomain.com, and www.crutcchfield.com they all have decks with gps that will fit your mustang.

So, in the end, I CAN change the head unit and keep the original Shaker 500.

By the way, I went to crutchfield.com and saw the Panasonic Strada CN-NVD905U. Anyone try that one?

Thanks a lot for the replies.
