Default Mach 460 issue

I just bought this car 04 gt vert and it came with a crappy after market radio. I decided to get a JVC unit and it still sounds crappy. The front speakers at the bottom of the doors have no sound and the tweeters sound like they cannot handle any bass at all. The car has the mach 460 speakers. I am thinking about buying the factory 6 disc unit and putting it back on. My question is, do you think this will take care of the sount issue? BTW the JVC unit was installed by the Ford dealer. Do i even vave an amp for the rear speakers because i dont see any (convertivbe has the speakers on the side of the rear seats) any suggestions will be appreciated!!

tweeters arent ment to play any bass at all.

since its a ford dealership they probably didnt hook it up right. look for uhh that one guys post (tool or something) that tells u how to wire a new deck to a 460 system to make it play and not sound like crap.

If your woofers (the speakers in the lower door) are not playing then whoever installed your headunit installed it wrong. If they did not integrate into the amp, then your tweeters will be the only thing that will play.

Take it to a good, reliable A/V shop to advise you. The aftermarket radios may not be setup or able to handle theideal/best output the stock 460 speakers can provide. I have the stock 460 system (speakers & radio), but added a 10" MTX sub and additional amp just for it. My system sounds great! PM me if I can help further, I don't frequent this site, but I'd be happy to email you.

sorry I took so long, been away for a while and really suprised that nobody else helped.

You need to turn on the factory amps to get the door subs to work. Pull the deck and connect the blue and blue and white wire on the factory hrns side to the Blue and white on the deck. You will probably have a turn on pop and that can be fixed by reading our forum sticky.

Page 2 er 3 of my sig shows how I tuned my 460, it sounded better with out the factory deck.

hey, ttocs. he's got the same harness as me, sothe harness from yours wont work. anyways...first off, pull your radio out. find out if the installer cut into the factory wires or if they used a harness. oh, take some pictures and post it on here. it'll help us out and we can gofrom there.does your unit have subwoofer outputs?does it have subwoofer controls? i had a similar problem in my 03 a few weeks ago when i changed out headunits. i had togetthe memphis 16-VBF1line driver to solve it. basically,it amplifys signals too weakfor the amplifier to recognize before they reach the amplifier.DO NOT go back to the stock head unit. its crap and will destroy your CDs in no time. yes, you have 2 amps. open your trunk and then lookup underneath andmake sure everything is plugged in.
