Default inSirius Problem

I just installed an aftermarket pioneer HU with Sirius radio in my 07 GT. The Shaker 500 system had the factory Sirius radio installed and I would like to use the factory antenna. Where is the factory sirius tuner and how can I make the antenna work with my pioneer sirius tuner?

PLEASE HELP - I have been everywhere on the net trying to find the answer and cannot...

Also,

I just bought a panasonic head unit ($299)and the sirius hook-up that goes with it ($99). This weekend I am tearing out the shaker 500 and reinstalling everything new. I will let you know what I find with the factory sirius. I was told by a few firends (who I trust) and a stereo store (who I don't trust) that if you buy and aftermarket Head you can not use the factory antenna. They do not make a wire harnest or anything. But I will explore the wiring this weekend and let you know. I am am going to try to place the after market antenna in the factory one on the trunk. I will take photos if I can....

Let me know how you made out!

I really do not want to get a new trunk to blank out the sirius antenna...

you might be able to take the antenna apart and put a new end on it but I know they are tempermental little things that require a perfect connection.

OUCH!

Would you happen to know where the tuner is mounted in the car? Is it seperate or is it part of the Factory Head Unit?

Also, would you know if there are any adapters for the third factory plug (I think this has the AUX input and maybe the Sirius Antenna)...

Cheers!

I just installed my aftermarket unit in my 07 Mustang GT with sirius and Ipod controls. The Sirius unit is located in the trunk passanger sidewall. You just remove the side liner and there are 4 bolts with bracketwith sirius unit attached. Disconnect the harness and anteena connection. To use the factory antenna pry apart the plastic cap around the smb connection and you can plug it direct to your new sirius tuner . You will have to mount the new sirius unit inside trunk area because anteena lead is not long enough to extend to front. Just extend your power and ground lines to radio wire harness and rca cablles and your set.
