Where is the VSS
he gave you the wire color, pin location as well as where to look. The only way it would be easier is if he made the connections for you.....
ORIGINAL: DreamMachine
Are those the terms I need to do a search on?

C'Mon down to Atlanta and I'll install it for ya (only gonna cost you a beer or 3)
THEN I could show you what you're missing out on (I have the Pioneer Avic Z1 installed personally... and the wife has the D3)
The hardest thing you have to do is either thread the wire, or use a huge poker to put a hole in the firewall and feed it thru (suggest if you're poking a hole, do it from the inside drivers side, there's a flap that gets you easy acess to the engine bayarea, just to the left of the steering wheel shaft)

EW, Atlanta huh. Thats a bit of a drive, although the idea of beer makes it a bit more tempting. What's your drink Big Floppy? So you perfer the Pioneer over Eclipse, for what reasons? And I take it you went with the"huge poker method" on yours, or were you able to thread it through. Thanks for the sound advice man.
Do you have a hard drive where you can store music? I do!
All the toys seem to work properly be that playing DVDs, Blue-tooth, iPod Interface, Sirius, XM and even the Navigation worked fine!
I was lucky, the guy who was initially looking after the skipper before I got Ford to buy it back off me had an Eclipse unit in his truck so I got to see one up close and personal... didn;t sound nearly as good as the Pioneer did (we even exchanged head units for a couple of days...) definitely prefer the Pioneer
Huge poker worked fine for me (look underneath the carpet beneath your feet, you'll see where there's a flap thats already cutout in the foam barrier), peel that back and poke your hole thru towards the top of it
UNLES THAT IS if you have a stick-shift, cause if you do, you might be able to thread it thru without poking a hole... I created my "hole" when I installed the pony upgrade lights package on my 05
