I recently added a sub to my mach 460 and the stock speakers are still playing bass. How do i make it so the sub is the only speaker playing lows? do i need a new head unit? Is this y everyone said the line out is ****ty?

Most higher quality HU's have crossovers that can route frequencies where you want them.

The easiest way to fix the problem is to go buy some bass blockers. They have them at best buy, circuit city, and pretty much any car audio place.

you do not to drop the bass from all the speakers or the woofers will do nothing. You can add the bass blockers(otherwise know as capacitors) at teh bypass hrns inside your dash depending on what year your car is. I point to it on page 2 of my cardomain page in my sig but that is in a 94. it will vary depending on what year.

would it be easier, and better in the long run, to ditch the loc and get a headunit with a seperate subwoofer feature

yes...aftermarket hu's = better sound quality overall than the crappy decks that come in cars. plus they look better and will give ur subs better signal as well.
