Default Finished front speakers need advise for rest of system...

Labor day weekend i installed an alpine CDA 9853 i got from my neighboor for cheap, i also bought a poweracoustic 560watt 4 channel amp to power my speakers. (keep in mind i'm 18, living in college dorms, and money is scarce right now) My front componants are alpine type r's 6.5" round woofer and 1" tweeter. Any recomendations towards what i've already done? How about my rear speakers? would i be best to just get the coaxel typre r 6.5's for the rear? Please just positive comments and information. (and nothing fromSVT John)

I actually just installed Alpine Type S's all around in my stang with bass blocks and then put a couple of Alpine Type R Subs in the hatch area (88 GT). I really like it. As far as your setup, really it is just going to be up to you as far as what you like. I personally didn't care for the Type R speakers because they were able to handle more bass than the type S's, but didn't seem to produce the same amount of mids. And since I was bass blocking the speakers anyways, I didn't need the added bass the Type R's produced. I would just go to a local store that has the speakers and listen and compare. Good luck.

Full range rear speakers have no purpose Most prefer to keep thier soundstage towards the front of the car by either installing no rear speakers, or just playing mids. There is a great post in the information sticky about it.

I would use channels 1 and 2 for the fronts and add a sub to channels 3 and 4.

Thats actually what i'm doing right now. I have channel 1 &2 going towards the componants, and ch. 3&4 bridged to a single 10". The rear speakers are stock and powered by the factory mach amps. The sub isn't that great its just one i had laying around so i figured that i'd hook it up until i got the rear speakers....but idk now...

thats good. sounds like youre on a great track.
in my last speakers in my fox, i had the back 2 blown, so i threw them out but kept the fronts in. its personal opinion on what to do with your rears, do what you like better.
