Default Oh shizz. Best Buy FTW.

I recieved this PM from SVTJohn.

You probably remember me, but i finally got my system installed and it is extremely loud with alot of bump. Everyone i know thinks i have like two 12's at least.....

anyways my comment/question is i think you said you shouldn't change bass settings on the HU. Funny b/c at Best Buy(got it installed there) they said if you change bass by the amp(like you said) i could blow sub. So yeah.............Got any remarks??
Please, kid, what is included in your "system?"

And what is a lot of bump?

Are you refferring to the SPL measure?

So the experts at Best Buy told you not to fiddle with the amp's settings?

Did they take your **** virginity?

Obviously if you bought their equipment they did.

Let me guess.

You got fully loaded with a type r and a kicker amp?

Give me a break.

Your information is worthless.

What's the problem? If somone cranks up the gains on the amp, they could blow the sub. Its a known fact. That said, Best Buy sucks for installs and sub woofers.

If someone "cranks" the gain that is correct, but if you have the gain improperly set to begin with you run a good chance of blowing it regardless.

They said not to mess with the gain.

Period.

Which is rediculous.

Very true. But if the driver of the car is a total noob, its not bad advice. They need to be taught how to set the gain before touching it.

To truely understand this forum, you should read the one posted earlier in the week where SVT John made a complete idiot out of himself. He pretty much made it obvious that he's completely ignorant.
